What is Insightly ?

Insightly is a powerful CRM tool for capturing and managing leads across all aspects of a sales process. Insightly gives you the power of comprehensive contact management and can track relevant lead information from email. One can download files directly from Dropbox, Box, Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive and Insightly online smoothly and conveniently. The built-in project management system helps you constantly monitor the workflow and release at the right time. Without a doubt, this tool fits in different sectors such as accounting, construction, education, health, real estate and many more.

Insightly is a web project and customer relationship management (CRM) application that integrates with Google Apps through a pop-up Gmail gadget and Google Docs support. The link concept is unique to Insightly: any item in the system can be linked to another item: projects, tasks, contacts, organizations, events, emails, opportunities. The link describes the role. For example, contacts can be associated with other contacts such as coworkers, referrals/referrals, etc., or as a custom relationship. Tasks cannot be associated with tasks, and Insightly has no task dependencies or Gantt charts. A task can be linked to multiple projects via the Link feature, but there is no drag and drop required. Tasks can only be assigned to one Insightly user and cannot have a start or due time (only a date). Insightful, however, support events, where you can set the time. Supports tags for opportunities, projects, contacts, organizations, and emails. However, tags for projects are completely separate from tags for contacts, and searches for the tag name do not find any. Contacts, Projects, Opportunities, Tasks support custom fields, but only up to 10, and only text, dropdown, and date (compared to Podio or Solve360). Projects, like contacts, can have a photo/image. The Gmail popup gadget can be used to add tasks, projects, opportunities, and emails, but not contacts. Email notifications include a daily email reminder of overdue tasks. There is no social media integration, but for organizations there is an events tab with Google search items. Insightly lacks Gantt charts and an API (comments, notes, and task details don’t support rich formatting, just plain text. Email import from Gmail is missing. User community ended Jan 2012 .
