What is Cockpit ?
Cockpit is server management software that can be used to manage Linux and GNU servers through a web browser. The cabin is designed for easy use. It makes Linux a discoverable platform and gives system administrators an easier way to perform important tasks like managing storage, starting containers, inspecting logs, and configuring networks. It is easy to switch between the web tool and the terminal. Any service started with Cockpit can be easily stopped with the terminal. And if any errors occur with the terminal, it will be visible in the Cockpit log interface. You can also monitor and perform administrative tasks on multiple servers simultaneously. All you have to do is add it to the software. Cockpit is an open source project, which means that it is completely free and is constantly being improved and improved. The developing society continues to update the program through donations. The software was developed with several key ideals: Cockpit was designed to be discoverable, which means you can learn to use the software without needing a help manual. It can be used even when not directly next to their servers. It does not require complex infrastructure or network configuration. Instead, it comes with a default server installation. One of the main objectives of Cockpit is that the system administrator can interact with the software immediately, without having to install other options. In addition, Cockpit has virtually no memory or process footprints on a server when the server is not in use. This does not override a system administrator’s rights to use your server. It does not store policies or data (except for server configuration). Cabin upgrades to reflect the unique needs of the server. It’s firewall friendly, helps a server scale consistently, and has a design mindset. Cockpit will look different when running on different operating systems because it is a user interface to the operating system rather than an external tool. This means that the operating system affects the appearance of the program. But Cockpit users should feel like they are interacting with your server: Cockpit is just the host. Cockpit can also be adapted and integrated with plugins and extensions. Every change and new feature is tested automatically. Changes are added to the code base only after all tests have passed. The tests run on all operating systems supported by Cockpit. Cockpit will work with Firefox, Chrone, Internet Explorer, Safari, Microsoft Edge and Opera client browsers. It has been tested and integrated with Fedora, Redhat, Atomic, CentOS, Debian and Ubuntu. It has not been fully tested with archlinux or Clear Linux.
