What is Gravity ?
Gravity is an open source toolset designed to create linked images of Kubernetes clusters, as well as those of the applications running within those clusters. The software allows its users to package entire environments as downloadable cluster images and run them on their customers’ infrastructure. It works in any Linux environment, such as edge nodes, private clouds, bare metal, etc. Gravity allows customers to install and update the application on any infrastructure with a single command. The software allows its users to take the guesswork out of on-premises deployments, as every cluster created with the software is identical. Users can focus on building their products instead of managing Kubernetes. Gravity clusters are wrapped with Teleport, which is a privileged access gateway. It unifies SSH and k8s authentication and even stores detailed audit logs to help users stay compliant. Gravity consists of tools that help perform infrastructure validation prior to cluster provisioning processes. These allow cluster designers to prevent their users from installing unwanted clusters in their infrastructure that do not meet the system requirements.
