What is Redis ?

Redis is an open source (BSD licensed) in-memory data structure store, used as a database, cache, and message broker. Supports data structures such as strings, hashes, lists, sets, ordered sets with range queries, bitmaps, hyperloglogs, and geospatial indexes with radius queries. Redis integrates replication, Lua scripting, LRU eviction, transactions, and different levels of disk persistence, and offers high availability through Redis Sentinel and automatic partitioning with Redis Cluster.

Redis is an advanced, open source, BSD-licensed key-value store. It is often called a data structure server because keys can contain strings, hashes, lists, sets, and ordered sets.

Redis is a scalable key value database management system. This NoSQL-like system is known for very good performance.

Redis is data structure storage software that can be used as a cache, message broker, and database. It is open source and under the BSD license, which means that it is completely free and constantly refined by its user community. Redis supports multiple data structures, including hashes, sets, lists, strings, ordered sets using range queries, hyperloglogs, bitmaps, and geospatial indexes using radius queries. Redis has also integrated Lua, replication, LRU eviction, and transaction scripting. The software offers high availability through Redis Sentinel, as well as automatic partitioning through Redis Cluster. Redis has a large community support network. Their biggest presences are on Twitter and GitHub. You can also get help with specific problems or help others with specific problems by subscribing to the Redis mailing list. The list currently has more than five thousand subscribers. There is also a comprehensive online tutorial that guides you through the features of the software. Redis is a key-value store. The definition of a key-value store is simple: it is capable of storing a certain amount of data, also called a value, inside a key. Subsequently, the data can only be recovered if the exact key used is known. Redis stores data permanently and securely; no one except you can access the key. There are common codes in key-value stores. The Delete key can be used to delete a key along with its data. A Set If Does Not Exist command can set a key, but only if that key does not already exist. The INCR command allows you to increment a number stored in a given key. It is possible to tell Redis that a key should expire after a certain time. You can accomplish this using the EXPIRE and TTL commands. This can add an extra layer of security to your data or a way to easily clean up your space once the keys are no longer useful.
